Gladius Sword
Gladius Sword

What is Roman Gladius Sword made of?
It used in the war
I remember reading once that the Gladius was not as popular in war as the Spear due to the soft metal it was made of. So I’d say Bronze seeing as it fits both the time period and that reference.

Gladius pompeianus – part 1/4
What a gladius tells you about ancient Rome?
I am doing a project on ancient civilations and chose a gladius which is a Roman sword. Please Be specific and give a very good response.
Great symbol of Rome, the empire was won with the gladius. Short and sharp, could be used for slashing or stabbing, unlike most other contemporary swords. Unlike most of his comtemporaries in Greece, Asia and Carthagininan Hellenized Africa, the Roman soldier was based on the sword instead of a spear or spear as their main weapon. Moreover, the Romans also used his sword on the right were directly drawers instead of a cross. A anectdote you may want to use-Pompey won the cities of Asia Minor by the Queen in the excesses of his troops, which forced them to close their swords in their shells with wax. The reputation of fairness and moderation that is built between the locals were not a great way to ensure this area to Rome.
