Metal Sheath
Metal Sheath

How to get squrriels from the space between the chimney stack (metal) and the outside chimney wall?
We have a ‘metal’ chimeny flue with a wood stack built around it. A squirrel had gnawed through the sheathing of the wood wall where a couple of the wood siding boards got blown off during Herricane Katrina.
moth balls work great!

wood umbrella pole stuck inside metal foot was swollen and wet?
Well, I have an (expensive) cast aluminum umbrella holder with small table for the patio. I put in a wooden market umbrella. It was damaged by wind. I tried to remove it from the metal sheath that holds it and it was swollen and the pole broke. Now wood is not swollen and brown paint to the steel appears to be fused within the tube and it is too swollen to get the wooden stick out. I have tried using a drill but hey, only fell by 6 inches and the table umbrella holder thing is about 3 feet tall. It is the only option to expel the whole thing? Is there a chemical that dissolves the wood? Could you put lighter fluid and burn it out? Help me out here if they have skills I need your advice, thanks.
If you do not hurry, what moves you inside so you can dry? It could take a week or more, but it sure is cheaper and easier than wrestling? If you have punched holes in paper sheets of spindle and insert into the holes in the wick moisture faster. There are sulfur-based chemicals that dissolve the protein binding the wood fibers together, but are industrial and not something that I've seen available for consumers. Recycled pulp mill (black liquor in the white liquor) so do not have to buy a lot.
