Saber’s sheath: Shiro to the rescue abridged

1863 Light cross of the sword of Q?

I got a lightsaber Calvary 1863 of my grandfather a year. I think it's M-1862 Light Cavalry Saber AMES manufacturing. As shown more or less the same. http://www.amessword.com/featured.php his is in fairly good condition. I clearly can read U.S., ADK, 1863 the sword. On the back I can read AMES-(a word fainting), Chicopee, MASS. The scabbard is in good condition, with a hole the size of a musket ball and some mold on top of it. Moreover, cable is still in the leather handle. And the road is still in what we assume is good, but not strong (except for the tip) During the years in the generations that has some paint stains on it that break off easily with a fingernail scratch. Above all, what could be the value of this sword? It would also be in my best interest to get it insured? And that restoration can be?

I can not give tell him how much it's worth, but do not try to retrieve it. That reduces the sale of much value! The link I provided is the website of the U.S. Cavalry Association, Why not send them by email and see if it can be helpful for you.
